Governor’s Conference on LGBTQ Youth – Registration Information

Registration for the 20th Annual Iowa Governor’s Conference is now closed.


Please read the following information carefully to ensure a smooth check-in process.

Failure to provide the required information for each attendee by April 8th at 4:00 PM will result in denial of entry to the Governor’s Conference on LGBTQ Youth with no refund.

Registration & Pricing

💰 Student Registration – $45
💰 Adult Registration – $120

💰 Adult License Renewal Registration – $145 (Iowa educators only)
✔ Earn License Renewal Credit! Attendees must complete a short reflection piece at the end of the conference to receive credit.

Registration Deadline & Prioritization

• Registration deadline EXTENDED to 4:00 PM on April 8th, 2025.

• All attendee details and/or substitutions must be shared with our staff by 4:00 PM on April 8th, 2025.

• Iowa Safe Schools prioritizes registration for students, school staff, and parents of LGBTQ youth.

• Sessions will have first access for students.

Required Attendee Information

Every attendee—regardless of registration type (student, parent, educator, community member, exhibitor, etc.)—must provide the following:
✅ Legal Name (for security purposes)
✅ Preferred Name (optional)
✅ Email Address
✅ Grade Level (if applicable) OR Educator/Parent Status
✅ School Name (if applicable)

This information must be submitted by April 8th at 4:00 PM. Failure to do so will result in denial of entry with no refund.

Registering as a group of 4+?
Request a group order form from our staff to streamline registration for multiple attendees.

Respect for Names & Identity

Iowa Safe Schools is committed to respecting and celebrating the identities of all attendees.

• Legal names are required for security and emergency purposes only.

• Attendee name lists (including legal names) will NOT be shared with anyone outside of Iowa Safe Schools staff and designated volunteers.

• Staff and volunteers are instructed to use preferred names or last names when addressing attendees.

• Name tags and markers will be available at tables in the main ballroom for attendees to write the name they wish to be called.

Conference Policies & Safety Measures

🔍 Bag Checks:

• All bags are subject to search prior to entry.

• This measure is in place for the safety of all attendees and staff.

🚫 Denial of Entry & Refund Policy:

• Iowa Safe Schools reserves the right to deny entry to any attendee who fails to provide required information or refuses to comply with conference policies.

• All registrations are final. No refunds will be issued.

• Registrations are reviewed and can be declined at the sole discretion of Iowa Safe Schools to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
