A project of Iowa Safe Schools…

Safe Schools Academy was founded in 2014 as a way to reach Iowa’s educators and equip them with tools to improve their school’s culture and climate, and support each and every one of their students.

Safe Schools Academy is student-driven, meaning everything we do for you, the educators, is done with your students in mind. We collaborate with a committee of educators from throughout Iowa’s education landscape to ensure we are delivering content that matters to you and ultimately, to your students.

In 2019 we introduced the Certified School Culture Advocate program, which recognizes educators and community advocates who excel at research-driven best practices for building a positive school climate and culture. This six course, nine credit program equips educators to become the changemakers their schools and students deserve.

Safe Schools Academy offers professional development to help improve your school’s climate and culture through online and in-person classes, available for license renewal and graduate credit, as well as conferences and summits.
